Family and Community Mourn 19-Year-Old Quantez Bolston

The Milledgeville community is mourning the loss of 19-year-old Quantez Bolston, whose life was tragically taken following a shooting late Monday night at a local convenience store.

News of Quantez’s passing has brought sorrow to those who knew him and to others affected by the loss of a young life. At just 19 years old, Quantez had so much ahead of him, and his death has left family, friends, and members of the community grieving.

The Milledgeville Police Department said officers responded around 11 p.m. September 28 to CC Food Mart at 1212 North Jefferson Street following reports of shots fired. Officers arrived in less than one minute and found Quantez suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot.

He was given emergency medical assistance and transported to a Macon hospital in critical condition. Sadly, Quantez died from his injuries on September 29.

Police identified Daquavious Omarion Napier as the suspected shooter. He was taken into custody early Tuesday morning. Following Quantez’s death, Napier was additionally charged with malice murder. He also faces charges related to attempted murder, aggravated assault, street gang activity, terroristic threats, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

The investigation remains active, with police saying additional arrests and charges may follow.
