Driver Killed After Jeep-Honda Collision in Midland

MIDLAND, Texas — A 22-year-old woman was killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Midland, according to local authorities.

The Midland Police Department said officers responded to the area near the intersection of Front Street and Fairgrounds Road at approximately 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, after receiving a report of a crash.

According to police, the collision occurred west of the intersection on Front Street and involved a 2005 Honda Accord and a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Investigators determined that the Jeep was traveling westbound in the inside lane of Front Street when the Honda Accord, which was leaving a private driveway, pulled into the roadway and into the path of the Jeep.

The Jeep then struck the driver’s side of the Honda Accord. The driver of the Honda sustained fatal injuries in the collision.

Authorities identified the victim as 22-year-old Anna Rubio Galindo.

Officials said Galindo’s next of kin has been notified. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Midland Police Department.

The tragic collision has left family and loved ones mourning the sudden loss of a young woman whose life was cut short. Further details may be released as the investigation continues.
