His death has left his family, friends, classmates, teachers, and community grieving the loss of a young life. At only 13 years old, he had many years ahead of him, making his sudden passing especially heartbreaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shreveport police responded to 6725 Buncombe Road, at the Olde Salem Village Apartments, after receiving reports of multiple people being shot near the apartment complex basketball court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The preliminary investigation determined that an unknown suspect fired multiple rounds toward the basketball court from a distance. Three juveniles were struck by the gunfire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 2-year-old suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while Sha\u2019Michal suffered life-threatening injuries. A 17-year-old was also struck and was reported to be in serious condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sha\u2019Michal was taken for medical treatment following the shooting but later died from his injuries. The Caddo Coroner\u2019s Office identified him as the 13-year-old victim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sources said Sha\u2019Michal attended Linwood Charter Academy, the same school where five of the eight victims of a deadly mass shooting in April also attended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police crime scene investigators and detectives are continuing to process evidence, interview witnesses, and determine exactly what led to the shooting. No suspect has been publicly identified or announced as being in custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As his loved ones face the pain of this devastating loss, may they find strength in one another and comfort in the memories Sha\u2019Michal leaves behind.
